Great app for those seeking practice in the art of cryptic crosswords. The free puzzles are a good way to get your feet wet, and the $3.99 purchase price for the full packs is a bargain. Not the most challenging puzzles out there, but tough enough to be enjoyable.

Cryptic crosswords involve loads of twisted wordplay fun. This app is easier to use than others. Lots of free puzzles to get you started. Answers available if you get stuck. Enjoyable for all the word nerds out there.

Smooth as melted butter! I cant think of a thing that could be improved here. And a bargain price to unlock all packs.

Like similar apps heavy on anagrams/hidden words. Answer often "obvious" only challenge is how it fits clues. Relatively small workspace on iPhone is a contributor to this. Standard keyboard is a plus

Unfortunately too many repeat answers in the add-on packs!

I have enjoyed the first pack, though compared to Fraser Simpsons cryptics, these are relatively straight forward. I like how you can check your answer without actually revealing the answer. It just says how many letters are wrong for the whole puzzle. I would like to see an explanation of how the answers work added for each clue in each puzzle.

I enjoy the difficulty level. The lack of ads, even during the trial period, is so refreshing! This will be the first app I pay for since the first Angry Birds. Appears to work fine on ios6.

The free puzzles that came with Cryptic Crossword were fun. Some clues were quite challenging. There were three types of clue predominantly used, i.e., anagrams, containers (the answer inside a group of words), and synonyms. Anyway, I shall not buy any of the puzzle packs because this app ignored my system keyboard and gave me a qwerty layout. A word to app developers: Use the system settings chosen by the user.

Nice collection for all levels of experience, though experienced solvers may find some of them a bit on the easy side. On the whole, clever and witty clues will amuse and make you think at the same time. No cross words here.

If youre a cryptic crossword fan, $2.99 is small price to pay for a lot of good puzzles!! Worth every penny!!!

Sloppy, amateurish. Not like the really hard ones that I am used to. Some of the clues were far from clever and really made no sense. It is good for a newbie for practice and all the clues are not numbered.

This is the perfect difficulty for me. Probably too easy for cryptic pros. I really enjoy it and love to do puzzles with a bit of humor in them.

Not bad, but too much repetition of clues and a bit too easy.

Bare-bones interface thats easy to navigate. And read. Puzzles are easier than those you find in newspapers, but thats what you want in an iPhone app: something that occupies half an hour or less while youre riding the subway. Best of all: unlike most UK crossword, these are solvable without knowing British pop culture references. This app is [ notorious sounds like cheese preparation (5) ] !

Somewhat simple, occasionally challenging, these puzzles can often be solved on a single bowel movement...

I enjoy cryptic crosswords and really like this app. Id give it five stars if the puzzles were more challenging.

Just downloaded the app w/purchase on my phone to pass the time on a long car trip. When I went to add it to my iPad, it recognized the previous download, but not the purchase. Is there a way to also access the purchased puzzles across devices without repurchasing? That would earn the 5th star.

Really enjoy cryptic crosswords. Hard to find British style crossword puzzles in U.S. Some have said the puzzles are too easy. I found them to be challenging enough to while away the time without being overwhelming. Wish there were more puzzle packs available to purchase.
